Ipswich Building Society announces executive team
volunteering scheme for local third sector business

Executive web

Ipswich Building Society has announced plans to run an executive level volunteering session for local third sector businesses. This will see IBS board members, including Chief Executive Paul Winter, spend time with a local social enterprise, community interest group or charity to offer support. This could include high level strategic brainstorming around fundraising, marketing or business strategy, or on the ground volunteering.

Paul Winter, Chief Executive, Ipswich Building Society, comments on the new scheme:
"There are some incredible third sector businesses in our area that just need a little extra support; our executive team volunteering is a way for the Society to use its skills for a wider boost. From business strategy to on the ground volunteering we're game for whatever is needed."

If you are a local third sector business and feel you could benefit from executive team volunteering email ceo@ibs.co.uk explaining what your organisation does and what you need from the session. Applications close on 29 August, with the session due to run during the afternoon of Monday 22 September.

This initiative comes as part of the Society's goal to be a leading responsible business. The Society was recently shortlisted for BITC "Responsible Small Business of the Year". Key focus areas for Ipswich over the past year have included increasing levels of financial literacy for primary school children through the Money Days school programme and free app "My Puppy: Maths and Money" - as well as tackling levels of homelessness in the East of England, working with charity partners to challenge preconceptions and raise awareness of the issue.
