CEO of Ipswich Building Society buys first 'Golden Ticket' for exclusive event in aid of Suffolk charity, Lapwing

Lapwing

Paul Winter, CEO of Ipswich Building Society, has purchased the first of only 250 'Golden Tickets' for a prize draw to raise vital funds for local charity, Lapwing Education. The winner of the draw, and nine guests, will receive the ultimate London dining experience and drinks reception in the city's iconic revolving restaurant on the BT Tower's 34th Floor on 12th October 2015. This has been closed to the public since 1980 and has been dubbed "one of the hardest places to get into" by Time Out Magazine.

The Golden Ticket draw will raise much needed funds for Lapwing's specialist education programmes which are individually tailored to meet the needs of each at-risk student it supports, helping them to meet their aspirations and goals. The charity operates independently from local and national education authorities and government, but became accredited as a City and Guilds Approved Centre in 2014, delivering and assessing functional skills Maths, English and ICT from entry level 1 through to level 2.

Paul Winter, CEO of Ipswich Building Society, said "Lapwing Education do fantastic work in our local community by providing unique learning programmes for young people that have complex barriers to learning. The Society already provides volunteer support to the charity and I jumped at the chance to enter this prize draw - the BT Tower in London is notoriously difficult to get in to, so dinner and drinks in its revolving restaurant really is "a-money-can't-buy" prize."

Wendy Quantrill, Communications and Fundraising Manager of Lapwing Education, said "We have just 250 Golden Tickets available for the chance to win what will be an unforgettable evening for the lucky winner, and their guests, in the revolving restaurant of London's BT Tower. You can buy a ticket for yourself or get together with friends and colleagues to purchase a 'syndicate' ticket, allowing you all to enjoy the prize if you win. The £50 donation to enter the draw will help us raise the funds we rely on for our education programmes which provide City & Guilds qualifications, bespoke coaching and work experience for young people in Suffolk who really need our help and support to take their learning forward and reach their full potential."
