Talbot Trail in Sudbury

Ipswich Building Society is celebrating the history and heritage of Sudbury with a mural depicting the Talbot Trail in their Sudbury branch, located on Market Hill. The Talbot Trail is a circular walk of 14 bronze sculptures presenting a light-hearted look at the history of the ancient market town with stories of events and characters through the ages.

The mural was officially unveiled on Saturday 17 August by Michelle Monck, General Manager (Marketing) of Ipswich Building Society, Town Mayor of Sudbury Adrian Osborne and mural creator Robin Drury.

Michelle Monck, General Manager (Marketing), Ipswich Building Society said: "I am delighted that we are bringing the history of Sudbury to life through the Talbot Trail mural, which provides an intriguing look at the market town. The Talbot Trail itself is a fascinating way to absorb the stories and scenes of development in Sudbury."

Adrian Osborne, Mayor of Sudbury, commented "The Talbot Trail was first launched six years ago, with each point of the Trail representing a particular, sometimes quirky, snippet of Sudbury's history. The Trail has proved popular but in recent years it has needed to be better promoted. We are very grateful that Ipswich Building Society has invested in and made space to accommodate this magnificent mural and map of the Trail, and encourage people to come and view it".

The Society is selling the accompanying Talbot Trail map guides for 50p with all proceeds going to the Sudbury Market Town Partnership.
