Last Sunday a combined team from our Mutual House and Woodbridge branches embarked on a long walk between the two towns – all in aid of local charity Families In Need (FIND).
FIND was established in 1990 with the aim of helping deprived people across the Ipswich area including families and lone parents, children, the elderly and the homeless. By offering food, household items, furniture and personal support to these individuals, FIND seeks to provide relief to those living in poverty.
The team met bright and early at Mutual House in Ipswich, before setting off on our 12 mile adventure! We were well loaded with our supplies, ready and raring to go – and from there we set off on our jaunt to Woodbridge where we passed a rugby pitch, a farm, wandered through a wood, across harvested fields, under spooky bridges - and even crossed a motocross track. (This was a slight detour however!)
After several hours we finally arrived at our Woodbridge branch, and after a brief celebration we quickly scurried down to the pub where we treated ourselves to a well deserved refreshing alcoholic beverage and some chips – they certainly went down well!
This was all in a bid to help FIND with their relocation to their new premises. If you would like to know more about FIND and how they operate, or would like to support them, visit their website.
