We know that mortgages can be confusing, which is why it can help to have someone knowledgeable to talk through the process with you.

We have three dedicated Mortgage Consultants based at our Ipswich head office, who are fully trained to give you the advice you need - and we don’t charge a fee for our advice either!

Melanie Mihill has been with us for 2 years, starting as a Trainee Adviser. Previously Melanie worked in financial services so has an excellent understanding of the marketplace. Melanie believes that “we can all do with a helping hand when buying a new home” and says the most enjoyable part of her role is “helping people to get the property of their dreams”.

Paul Blaking found a love of mortgages after joining us as a Member Adviser in our branch network in 2012. Paul says that “getting a mortgage  agreed is as much about the applicant as it is about their new home” and he likes to take the time to understand his applicants better, so he can provide a “truly personal” service.

Anna Barnacle takes our ‘longest serving’ Consultant award, racking up 11 years with the Society. Like Paul, Anna started in our branch network and still loves the customer facing part of the role. Anna thinks that “sometimes you just need a friendly chat, someone to walk you through the home buying or remortgaging process”.

Our Mortgage Consultants are available over the telephone or to meet face to face in our branches.

Applicants must be aged 18 or over. Subject to status and valuation. Fees apply. Contact us for full details in branch, by telephone or visit our website. It will be made clear from the outset that we only offer a fully advised sales process on our own mortgages and that there are no fees for our advice.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
