Sizewell B Tour

Enjoy a private site tour and see how nuclear power is used to provide low carbon energy for the UK. Strict security checks apply.

WHERE: Sizewell B Visitor Centre, Leiston, Suffolk, IP16 4UR

COST: FREE

 

Members will enjoy a visit the most modern nuclear power station in the UK and gain a unique insight to the technology used. The tour will last around 3 hours and refreshments will be provided at the end. The tour includes a walk of the entire site, approx. 1.65 mile and is 80% outdoors.

 

Safety: Members will be required to wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which will be provided by the site. Arms and legs must be covered, and sensible flat footwear must be worn. No electronic devices (including mobile phones), food/drink or photographs are permitted.

 

Accessibility: The tour involves a 1.65 mile walk including approx. 190 stairs amongst outdoor terrain. Therefore this tour is NOT suitable for wheelchair users or those with difficulty walking.

 


 

PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING - If you are successful in the ballot:

 

PRE-SECURITY CHECK: Every member will be required to supply their date of birth, address (as shown on your identification) and nationality upon allocation of a place for a pre-security check conducted by the site. If information is not received by the date given upon allocation, you will not be able to attend this tour.

 

You are welcome to view the sites privacy notice by clicking here although most of the information on the notice is not applicable to our visit as it relates to third parties. The information EDF request for security checks is retained in paper format only by their security department to comply with their regulatory requirements governing access to a licensed Nuclear site.

 

ON THE DAY SECURITY: Each visitor will require an ‘in date’ European passport or UK photo driving licence for access via security. If these documents cannot be produced then two forms of alterative documentation such as a birth certificate, bank statement, council tax or utility bill can be shown. More details will be provided upon place allocation.

If no pre-check is completed and no identification is shown on the day, this will result in no entry to the tour.

A ballot will be held following the closing date and members will be contacted to advise whether they have been successful or not in obtaining a place. For joint registrations both members will be allocated places if successful in the ballot.
